Love is stronger than cancer...Jaxson’s Story
Just 2 weeks ago, Kristy and her boys learned that what should have been a relatively minor surgery, took a drastic and unexpected turn. Surgery turned into the discovery that Jaxson has Rhabdomyo Sarcoma, a soft tissue cancer.
Fast forward two weeks and now two surgeries later, they have a little more clarification, Rhabdomyo Embryonal Sarcoma with Anaplasia, a chemo port insertion, five biopsies, an uncertain chemo path, BUT...a self given nickname by Jax himself, IRONMAN!!
The new “normal” for Kristy and her boys, at least as of April 21st, will resemble a combo three medicine intense chemo cocktail to be given every three weeks and additional treatments weekly. A 24 week treatment schedule will hopefully provide them an end to this road.
We have all heard an “uncertain, difficult and trying time” so many times over the past few weeks, now this is particularly true for Kristy, Tanner and Jaxson. With social distancing in effect and COVID-19 safety measures, we cannot come together as we would customarily to support them. It is for this reason, I am asking you to contribute, if you are currently able, to help support Kristy and her boys. We need to help try to provide some small “cushion” of support for this single mother of two. The medical bills are certain to come in soon. Multiple ER visits, surgeries, physician visits, blood tests, imaging and chemo treatment add up quickly.
For all of the countless fundraisers I have witnessed Kristy help facilitate, run and donate to, now we have the opportunity to help her so she may worry less, stress less and concentrate on the wellbeing of her family.
At this time the amount of uncovered expenses is not yet clear. The amount of funds raisedwhich do not directly go towards covering medical expenses will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation as a donation in Jaxson’s name, so we may contribute to other families, like Kristy’s, through this difficult time.
