Sweet and kindhearted three-year-old Josephine Violet Bechtold has to undergo brain surgery for her Chiari Malformation. Even though Jo's Chiari is severe, her parents hoped she would stay asymptomatic. Due to recent testing and presenting symptoms, Jo's neurosurgeon decided to proceed with surgery at the end of December. With successful surgery, Jo is expected to sing, skip, and dance again by her 4th birthday.

Jo and her twin sister entered the world 67 days prematurely and spent three months gaining enough strength to live at home with dad and mom, Brian and Erin Bechtold. Both girls have been fighters from the start. We know that with enough time and money, Jo and her family will have the support they need for a full recovery.
