Love, Hope, Help & Healing 4 Alyssa Williams

Hello Everyone! I am starting this fundraiser in behalf of my beautiful friend Alyssa (Desimone) Williams. As many of you may already know or for those who do not…..Alyssa was recently diagnosed with mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) which is a cancer of the salivary/ parotid gland. Unfortunately this type of cancer can be tricky, risky and include nerve involvement, facial paralysis. Alyssa is currently admitted at Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City. She had surgery to remove the cancerous gland located deep in her neck last week. The surgery was a lot longer then expected (9 hours) with some unexpected findings. The gland was removed, surrounding lymph nodes….along with the nerves which also unfortunately had cancer involvement after clarification at pathology. Alyssa had to have nerves and tissue taken from her thigh and put in her other surgical area on her neck. She is currently having a difficult  time trying to take all this in. Alyssa has not been feeling well for several months and has been trying to find answers to her many symptoms. With covid guidelines postponing a lot of medical needs she desperately needed. She’s been Seeing different specialists with no true diagnosis despite her feeling sick and a feeling that something is not right. Please always advocate for yourself. You know your body! Please pray that this surgery is the answer to her symptoms, the reason she felt sick and that her months of ongoing symptoms get better and go away. That all these unsolved medical puzzles finally come together and heal her. Due to the removal of her cancerous salivary gland and cancer involvement of the nerves…..she will need radiation therapy. Currently Alyssa is waiting for the full pathology report to determine what stage it is and how aggressive. She is currently still in New York City with her husband Jeremy, her parents, and two young boys by her side as much as they are permitted in the hospital for visits. I am asking you all to bless Alyssa and her family with any generosity you can help with. Alyssa has done so much for the community, is always there to give a helping hand, always pouring out to others and there if you need her. Well….let’s show Alyssa how much we love her and pour our hearts into her this time!!!
