I wish to address this appeal to all my family & friends in Facebook, and others who will be reached one way or the other by this message.

My sister Elena (Nita to friends and relatives), a loving sister, a doting mother not only to her children but to my own; a retired teacher, a devout Catholic & an active member of the Legion of Mary in Manila, Philippines is in critical condition. She is in the ICU at St Luke's Hospital, after partial right hip-replacement surgery resulting from fractures when she suffered a fall while getting off a passenger motor cab a week ago. While the procedure was successful, she developed other serious complications requiring a much higher level of care. Her son Ashwin, who is a nurse at St Luke's, and all of our immediate relatives need your prayers and all out support. Meantime the tremendous cost of her hospitalization will definitely be so overwhelming for her son and for most of us, her immediate family. Any help is greatly appreciated.
