Our friend Tracie Wankowicz, a graduate of Clear Lake High School, is having a rough time. She has gone through surgeries and chemo and thought she was through the worst of it. But now has been given the bad news that she isn't. She had surgery to put in a new port and after the surgery was over she was told there was a horrible mistake and the port they put in had expired! All of her news has been bad this month! We would like to at least give her some good news. We would like to tell her we can help ease her financial burden! If you went to Clear Lake High School let's show Tracie some Falcon Pride. And of course even if you didn't go to Lake show her some love. May God heal her and give her comfort!

Today didn't go as I had hoped.
Didn't go too well at all.
Turns out, I not only had the tumor and the malignant lymph node, I also had Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Typically, it is the type of cancer that is actually visible on the outside of the breast (but wouldn't you know it, mine was not visible, not by my OB/Gyn, not by my Oncologist, not by my surgeon or my Radiologist). With all of that said, there is still cancer in the skin cells.
Now, I have to act fast. I have to have surgery to have my "Port" put back in, and start another series of Chemo... Again... The last round of chemo was horrible, but apparently I was 'resistant' to that cocktail. There really are no words... The oncologist let me know today that this next series will be much worse. (yay me). My oncologist would like for me to have my surgery tomorrow, but I'm sure it'll be early next week. He wants my next series of chemo to start as soon as this Monday, if not this Monday - the following Monday.
They'll know if the new chemo cocktail is working about a week after the first 5-day series. If it is working, I'll start a vigorous 5-6 week (daily) blast of radiation immediately.
....just when my hair was starting to grow back, I"m going to lose it all over again. I know I should be worried about much more than my hair. But right now - I just want to focus on one thing at a time.
So, excuse me while I scream into my pillow. :(
