What Coy and Lola Mean to Us
Coy's Story
Coy Stewart is a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, tio and friend. He dedicated decades to his career at CMC Steel in Seguin, Texas and is well known in his community for being a kindhearted handyman. Coy and Lola have been together since February 14, 1988 and raised 2 wonderful sons together. This couple is well known in their community to be a couple of faith, love and hope. Coy was recently diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, and unfortunately, due to the symptoms of the disease, he is no longer able to work. As one can imagine, this diagnosis, its symptoms and the new daily routines associated have been difficult for him and his family to adjust to. This page is to help Coy and his family with the financial burdens that come along with this debilitating disease that, unfortunately, is not going away.
How We Can Help
The Stewart's family and friends all agree that we must match the love and generosity Coy and Lola have given their community by offering them every single opportunity and resource we can during this difficult time. It's extremely important that the Stewarts are proactive throughout this process and we can help not just by donating, but also advocating for Coy's care, sending all the love and prayers we can, and sharing this page as much as possible. The estimated cost of care for an ALS patient in the US is $200,000 a year. While Coy and Lola do have insurance, it does not cover all the costs of his care. The family's out-of-pocket expenses for Coy's treatment/care are substantial and ever increasing. Any amount, big or small, can make a significant difference for the Stewarts while they are on this journey of faith, love and hope.
