Love for the Shane Hall Family

There are no words to describe the absolute horror of Shane's family having lost so much; everyone who knew Shane knows what a generous heart he had - please read Shane's story and help this wonderful family as best you can.  As you can imagine, the medical bills are staggering - please express your love for Shane and his family by contributing whatever you can, they need our help.

Here is Shane's story, from his wife, Julie.

On Monday July 20th, Shane lost his 16-day battle with COVID-19.  I lost my best friend, the girls lost the best girl dad in the world.

He said to me one night “I wish everyone could know how horrible this disease is and what it's like to have to focus on breathing and staying alive.

Shane rarely left the house, Lysoled everything-we were super careful.  It all started on a Wednesday when he felt like was getting bad allergies.  Thursday night he had a low fever and cough, Friday we were at urgent care and got a COVID test.  We found out he had a little pneumonia in his left lung, O2 was 92...they gave us steroids, 2 antibiotics and meds for a nebulizer.

Saturday morning Shane's O2 was at 75 and we were off to the ER.  I had to leave Shane on the sidewalk at the entrance to the ER and that was the LAST time I saw him in person.  I was never allowed back in the hospital.

In the wee hrs Sunday Shane was in ICU on a Bi-pap mask fighting for his life.  He had COVID induced pneumonia in both lungs.  He had COVID induced liver failure and kidney failure was close by and was a hair away from being put on a ventilator.

Over the next 16 days Shane went up and down.  We were only able to face-time a few times and he couldn’t talk due to his mask.  We would look and him and inside be dying watching him struggling SO hard to breathe, longing to see him, hold his hand, kiss his head.  We never got that ever and it was hell.  Something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

On Monday Shane was still struggling to keep his oxygen up and was laying on his stomach and doing well.  The virus was attacking his heart and it was working at 40%.  I was at the hospital dropping off his favorite pillow and Gatorade not knowing he was coding and the medical staff was trying everything they could to save him.   Shortly later I received the worst phone call - the one that ended my life as I know it.  I had to drive home and tell my girls that their dad was gone. There are NO words to describe the horror of that and days since.

COVID took took everything from us and everyone that knew Shane.  He was an amazing husband, father and friend and will be greatly missed.
