Love for the Lintons

Donation protected
June 9, 2020:

It is with a broken heart that I send the news that Camden passed away at home at 2:18 this afternoon.  His Mom and Dad were holding him and his brother and sister were right there.

Camden was diagnosed with DIPG on June 8, 2019.  His family has been able to create lots of beautiful memories with him since then.  Thank you for all of the love and support you have given over the last year.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________This is 4-year-old Camden. Camden was just diagnosed with an aggressive and fatal brain tumor. We're trying to help support his family. It would mean the world to me if you could read about them and consider any help you might be able to offer, even if it's just sharing. This is posted with permission from the family. For those of you who wish to contribute in other ways, like mailing gift cards or donating air miles for a vacation, you can reach out to us via GoFundMe.

After displaying neurological symptoms that worried his mom, Erin, and his dad, Jeff, on June 8th, Camden was taken to the hospital to undergo testing.

It was confirmed that Camden has a specific, non-operative brainstem tumor called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).

There is no cure.

The average prognosis is approximately 9 months. Doctors have told the family there is no reliable timeline, but the rapid and degenerative nature of the tumor means Camden's symptoms will worsen noticeably week by week until the end. The family is now faced with doing everything in their power to maintain what quality of life they can for Camden as they cherish every minute left with their sweet, little boy.

This family is well-loved in the community. Erin is the librarian at an elementary school and has worked with the students and staff there for 9 years. Jeff works for a slowly-closing paper mill and they have teenage son and daughter. Their willingness to serve those in need and their commitment to treating people the way Christ would treat them is limitless. While we can't take away the reality of what they're facing, we can band together to help alleviate some of the financial burden that will come.

This diagnosis is crushing, emotionally and financially. Paying for hospital bills and covering everyday expenses, time away from work, happy memories in these next few months, and ultimately, funeral costs are all part of an immediate and unrelenting reality.

Our goal is to help them feel the love of our community and every other person whose heart is breaking for them during this devastating period of their lives. The best way for you to help us is through donations and prayers. Thank you for taking the time to help us band together in surrounding the Lintons in love and support. Any contribution on your part is greatly appreciated by humbled and thankful parents who are faced with the worst nightmare a parent can face.
