Ben and Liz welcomed sweet Caleb Nathaniel to the world on May 6th. And he has been stealing the hearts of many already in the short time he has been with us!
Caleb was prenatally diagnosed with both Down Syndrome and tetralogy of fallot (a heart defect). And shortly after birth, it was determined that he also had pulmonary hypertension. He was quickly intubated and taken to the NICU. The interplay of multiple challenging medical issues has created a complex situation without clear solutions. One thing is obvious, Caleb is a fighter!
Caleb is now in the cardiac ICU at Lurie Children’s Hospital in downtown Chicago, as they continue to work to determine how best to help and stabilize him. Open heart surgery is inevitable, although the timeline is not yet clear.
We want to bless the Lind family and support them with prayers and financial gifts as this new journey with sweet Caleb will bring increased medical bills and expenses.
