Love for the Leys

Derek Ley was born on Wednesday, August 19, 1981 in Galveston, Texas. Derek is the son of Fernando and Terri (Myers) Ley. He passed this life on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was 41 years of age.

​Derek was a 2000 graduate of Union High School in Tulsa. He attended the University of Oklahoma, where he met the former Miss Stacy Singleton. They were married on May 26, 2007 at Tarp Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Derek was employed with Helmerich and Payne, Trinidad Oil Company and the University of Tulsa making a lifelong career in oil and gas. He enjoyed wearing crimson while cheering on his Sooners, working in his yard, grilling and back porch time. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his daughter and two sons. He loved following Keira’s soccer days and teaching Carson and Connor how to play baseball.

Derek was an amazing friend, husband to his wife, and dad to his kids. He will be missed but he has left an amazing legacy. Let’s help his family in this time.

Funds requested will go to a college fund for Keira, Carson, and Connor.
