Love for the Huff Family

As many of you know, Christopher has passed away. Please take the time to read the most recent update for Michelle and Savannah’s current needs.
All of the funds raised so far have been used for treatment expenses for Christopher and now we need to raise money to help Michelle and Savannah through this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for loving them so well! ***
I'm so glad you are here because it means that you love this family like I do, or maybe you just heard about the Huff's and your heart was stirred to help them. Either way, thank you for being here and thank you for helping in any way that you can. I'm going to share Michelle's words about what has been happening with Christopher's health and then I will share the practical ways that the funds raised through this campaign will be able to help them.
From Michelle on August 1:
"So as many of you know, Christopher has suffered from Crohns Disease since he was about 12 years old. He has had many moments that could have been his last, but God was not done with him.
Since we've been married he has had some of the worst pains and hospital stays. There have been at least 5 week long stays in the past 8 years. Each visit seems to get worse and worse. And this last one took the cake, at 2 weeks.
Chris was also Diagnosed with Testicular cancer in January 2020 which thankfully God protected him from having to go through treatment , and he only had to have surgery, which removed the whole tumor. We are still going in for blood work and scans every 2-4 months. that journey will be strict for the next 5 years.
on Saturday July 18, I took chris into the ER with severe stomach pains and cramping. He had been unable to pass anything for over 10 days at that piont. He was also having a bad Crohns flare up. (This was the beginning of our next journey)
Over the next few days nothing was working, he had a picc line put in and had 2 procedures done to try to expand the inflamed area of his colon. On Wednesday the second procedures was done and the Dr. decided to take a biopsy (I had suggested it would be a good idea, just in case) well later that night I received a call from the nurse that I needed to come back in per the Dr request.
We were told the horrible news that Chris now has Colon Cancer.
The next plan was to get an MRI done so we could know the stage and figure out a plan. while waiting for the MRI He had to have Surgery for a loop Ostomy to be put in. The Ostomy will be there for the next few weeks. to help his colon relax and empty.
On Tuesday we receive the results of the MRI which were very hard to read since he has so much inflammation going on. after meeting with a tumor board they confirmed that he was in between stage 2 and 3. it wasn't the best news but also wasn't the worst!
As of now our plan is to have another Surgery the first week of September to have his Colon, Rectum and Anus completely removed , and to have a permanent illiyostomy put in. After this surgery we will decide on the next course of action in treatments.
We appreciate all of the prayer and support that has been flooding in and ask that you please keep them going!!! the next few months are going to be some of the hardest we have ever faced. I won't lie, this has been a really hard hit for us again, we have a lot of anger and frustration and all the why's? We are trusting God for his direction and know there is a bigger plan!
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you and future and a hope."
Isaiah 41:10 " Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." "
It goes without saying that what Chris and Michelle and sweet Savannah have endured is heartbreaking beyond words. Yet they are so incredibly strong and their faith is an inspiration to so many. But can I be real with you? As a friend of Michelle's for fifteen years, I know that her heart, and Chris' too, is to serve and love and give. But you guys, they NEED US right now. They might not ask for it but with their permission myself and several friends wanted to start this fundraiser because they have fought such a battle for so long and this next season will be yet another incredibly challenging season. Yes they need prayer and they need meals and any other practical help possible. Babysitting, house cleaning, anything you're able to do if you're local, don't even ask what they need. Just drop off the meal or offer to watch Savannah or go do some dishes. I wish that I was close enough that I could do that right now!
But the other reality is that this season is going to be expensive, they have no idea what the medical costs will be and also with Chris unable to work and Michelle having to care for him and Savannah and not being able to work much either, there is a need for lots of financial help. For bills and rent and groceries and babysitting and gas not to even mention the medical bills. Can we come together and literally LIFT the financial burden off their shoulders so they can focus on treatment and healing and time spent together without the heavy weight of wondering how they're going to pay for life during all of this?
I encourage you to give whatever you are able! If that is $5, then thank you so so so much! If that is $1000, then thank you so so so much! Every single dollar is going to help lift the financial burden so their time and energy can go to what is most important.
Please keep praying. Please send messages of love and support. And please take one minute to share this fundraiser and your love for this family on social media. The more people who read their story and are moved to give the better! I'm believing for them to come out of this season without additional medical debt and not having to worry about daily expenses. Won't you join me?
Thank you so much, there aren't even words for how appreciated you are! We will keep this page updated as more information is available. So don't forget to check back!
