Love for the Fogle Family

Donation protected
The precious Fogle family, Selena and Gavin, welcomed their precious daughter Lilah Wren Fogle on Sunday 11/5/23 at 5:47 p.m. She weighed 5 pounds and 6 ounces. Despite every ultrasound and blood test being completely normal and healthy during Selena's pregnancy, Lilah was born in critical condition. She was transferred from Patewood Hospital to Greenville Memorial NICU immediately following her birth. After completing extensive testing on her, they urgently flew Lilah from Greenville to MUSC in Charleston. Lilah went to meet Jesus in the early morning hours of November 10th. (Please read Selena’s incredible story below.)
Selena & Gavin are facing an unbelievable amount of medical bills, not to mention the amount of expenses they will have with travel, meals, gas, hotel bills, and much more as they are at MUSC to be with Lilah. As their friends, we are asking you to please considering donating to help offset these expenses so this is one less thing they need to worry about during this trial. Also, please consider dropping off a meal through their Meal Train we’ve set up- https://mealtrain.com/zkmdwr

Anyone who knows Gavin and Selena knows what a bright light they are to all who are around them. They have always gone above and beyond for their friends, family, neighbors, fellow church members, coworkers, and others. We want to return this love and commitment to them. Any amount you are willing to contribute at this time will go a long way. All proceeds will be given directly to the Fogles. Please share with your friends, family, church members, etc. Let's help the Fogles know they are not alone during this time! Much love to you all!
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." -Galations 6:2

Selena’s testimony shared-
“It is with the most broken hearts, and unfathomable pain that we announce that our precious Lilah girl went to be with Jesus in the early hours of this morning.

We have no doubt that the Lord heard each of your prayers and ours, as we begged him for a miracle. Little did we know at the time, He had already answered our prayer for a miracle. Upon further testing once arriving to MUSC, the doctors found that Lilah had an extremely rare anomaly called tracheal atresia, meaning during the first few weeks of development her airway never completely formed which obstructed her ability to breathe from the start of life. They believe this was caused by a random gene mutation during development that no test, or ultrasound could have picked up. It is so rare that less than 1 in 50,000 babies will experience it. The doctors and surgeons all said it was something they had only read about in case studies, or had only seen one other time in their 30+ year careers and they had NEVER heard or seen of a baby making it out of the delivery room alive if they had the anatomy Lilah did. They shouldn’t even have been able to intubate her at birth and get air to her lungs with how severe her condition was. MUSC doctors were in complete shock that Lilah gave us 5 days! Every doctor or surgeon we talked to was completely in awe and called Lilah’s case an absolute MIRACLE!

While it wasn’t the miracle we were all praying for, the Lord gave us the miracle of getting to spend 5 days in the NICU with her, and show each and every medical professional that we serve a God of the impossible. Those 5 days gave us time to process and understand her condition and spend some precious moments with her.

Now she is getting her miracle in heaven! Her lungs are now full of breath. Fully healed and never having to experience the brokenness or pain of this world.

We don’t understand, we are asking why, but we are choosing to believe that the Lord has so much purpose in Lilah’s story. As Gavin was on his face praying this morning for all the other babies in the NICU, the Lord very clearly revealed to him that Lilah was never ours to begin with. We were just vessels that He used to bring Lilah to this earth. The Lord gave Gavin an incredible supernatural vision of Lilah’s purpose. The Lord showed him that the reason she was brought to this earth was for her resilient spirit to flow through each of the three hospitals we visited, but specifically the NICU at MUSC. We strongly believe the Lord will continue to use Lilah’s fighting spirit, testimony, and holy presence to change lives in that NICU. Her work has just begun.

We have already seen so many incredible glimpses of how He has held us in the palm of His hand before we even knew what we were going to face. He is already revealing ways that He is using Lilah and we look forward to continuing to share how Jesus is all over Lilah’s story. We have peace knowing this is HIS plan and Lilah is HIS and always has been. We are still going to CHOOSE to worship even through this. Bad circumstances do not mean that we serve a bad God!

We are so incredibly grateful and simply in awe of all of the love and support that everyone has shown us. Thank you will never be enough. We’ve been completely amazed at the number of people praying and hearing Lilah’s testimony all across the country.

We are especially grateful for one of our best friends Maddie Turner who selflessly drove down to Charleston at the drop of a hat to capture some of our first moments holding Lilah, and some of our final moments with her. Lilah got to meet her big sissy and bubba beaver. We got to all pray over her, read scripture to her, and have a big worship session with the doctors and nurses before we ultimately had to allow them to take out her breathing tube and send her to be welcomed by Jesus.

These pictures are raw, real, and something we will forever cherish. We hope you feel the Lord’s presence just looking at them and we pray that through our story you would let Jesus move in your life. This is just the beginning of the impact that Lilah is going to make for God’s kingdom.

If you have been touched by Lilah’s story at all, please feel free to share this post and tell of the incredible goodness of our God!

To tell her story is to tell His story!
