Love for Sweet Ethan

On Monday January 14, 2019  Cindi brought Ethan to her paediatrician for a follow up because he had been nauseous and vomiting for about two weeks and his eye was inverted suddenly. The paediatrician was so concerned she sent them to Sick Kids Hospital immediately. Upon arrival and after an MRI, news was given that no parent wants to hear. A mass was discovered in Ethan’s brain and it was thought to be cancerous. The wonderful doctors at Sick Kids made the decision to operate immediately to remove the mass in Ethan’s brain and relieve the swelling. After an 8 hour surgery most of the mass was removed but some was left behind as it was attached to his brain stem. Cindi was also told the cancer had spread to Ethan’s  spine and spots were located in the back of his brain. These funds are being requested to help alleviate the financial burden that Cindi is facing  while trying to care for Ethan at the hospital and Chloe at home. UPDATE   The funds are now also required to assist Ethan and Cindi as they go to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital in Memphis Tennessee. They will be there for up to 8 weeks. The purpose of this trip will be for Ethan to receive Proton Therapy Radiation on his brain and spine. This is a more targeted radiation and is not offered here in Canada. She has taken a one year leave from both of her jobs to care for Ethan through all phases of his treatments. The estimated time of treatment for our warrior is approximately a year but may be more.
