Hi, I’m Ryan Luelf, a husband to my incredible wife Caroline, father of four amazing children, and a life coach living with my family in Vilcabamba, Ecuador.

In October 2015, I was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. After an incredibly challenging journey, including a recurrence in 2017, I received a clear PET scan in 2018 and have enjoyed more than eight wonderful years without any known recurrence.

Unfortunately, I’m now facing another serious health challenge.

After recently discovering a swollen lymph node in my neck, I underwent medical testing and imaging that raised significant concerns that lymphoma has returned. We’re currently pursuing additional blood work, oncology consultations, and further evaluations to confirm the exact diagnosis and extent of the disease.

I’m approaching this experience with hope, confidence, and an open mind, while taking my health incredibly seriously.

I’m working with medical doctors and exploring a comprehensive approach that includes medical care, nutrition, rest, supportive therapies, and caring for my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Beginning in early November, I’m planning to step away from my life coaching business, pickleball lessons, and virtually all outside responsibilities for approximately five to six weeks to focus on my health and healing.

During that time, I’ll be staying nearby at a friend’s peaceful healing space, completely unplugging from my phone, social media, and work. Caroline and our children will continue to visit me, and we’ll provide updates whenever possible.

Why We’re Asking for Financial Support

Taking this time away means our family will experience a significant loss of income. At the same time, we’re already incurring expenses for medical testing, doctor appointments, oncology consultations, treatments, and other supportive care.

Caroline will continue working and caring for our children, but we’re facing financial uncertainty as we navigate this next chapter.

Your donations will help us cover medical and healing-related expenses, replace some of the income I’ll be losing, and support our family’s everyday needs while I focus on getting well.

We don’t know exactly how long this journey will last or what additional expenses may arise, but we’re committed to navigating it one day at a time.

A Personal Message From Me

One thing I really want people to know is that I’m not asking anyone to feel sorry for me.

I have an incredible life. I love my wife, my children, my friends, and the work I get to do helping others.

I have so much more life I want to experience, so many memories I want to create, and so much more love I want to share.

I’m confident, hopeful, and committed to giving myself every opportunity to get well. I also recognize that none of us knows exactly what the future holds.

For now, I’m choosing to receive support, put my health first, and focus fully on this next chapter.
