Love for Randi

Randi Schultze (55) was diagnosed in June '18, with stage 4 stomach cancer. He was only sick for a short time and quickly lost 40 lbs before he was diagnosed. Surgery was not an option due to the extensive spread of the cancer. Randi and his family didn't lose hope, and began the FIGHT. Randi was scheduled to get 6 rounds of chemo through a port in his chest. Even after 2 rounds of chemo, he was able to eat again, golf and go back to work. If anyone knows Randi, his job at Gordy's meant the world to him and he is by far the hardest worker I know. He would tell us, "I am feeling great!" and had an appetite again. We hoped that meant the treatments were working. They did a rescan (PET scan) in early September, and the scan showed that in fact the treatments WERE helping and the cancer in his stomach was shrinking tremendously!!
Not even two weeks after this awesome news, Randi began to have intense pain, nausea, and vision loss. Randi was admitted to the hospital on September 24th, and a couple days later was hit with some very bad news. He was diagnosed with Leptomeningeal Metastases (cancer) (LMD), which is a very rare complication of cancer. The cancer travels to the spinal fluid that is in your spinal cord and around your brain. Randi and his family chose to aggressively fight this! He began treatments in the hospital, with strong IV chemo, radiation, and intrathecal chemo. He always was AND is a fighter and wasn't going to let this beat him. Anyone that knows Randi knows this. He had a rescan (MRI) end of October that showed the cancer has spread even more.
He has been in the hospital since the end of September with his wife Judy by his side, who has been out of work since he was admitted. Between family and friends, Randi has never been alone in the hospital and we are so grateful for that. Soon, Randi will be discharged from the hospital and moved to a nursing home with hospice care. Randi has two daughters, Emerson (16) and Kennedy (22) and a dog he misses dearly, Harper.
Throughout this whole process, the Schultze family has not asked for help. But, it's time to show them some love!!!!
We as his family ask for help for medical bills that are pilling up. But, most importantly we ask for prayers for comfort and healing for Randi, Judy, Emerson, and Kennedy. They need our support through this difficult time. Thank you for taking the time to read this! And just like Randi would say, "third monkey out."
-With much love, his niece Briana
