Love for Navy

October 7, Jolee and Kalob Stevenson went in for their 38-week appointment, when their doctor detected an abnormal heart rate.  Jolee was immediately taken in for a C-section and sweet Navy was born.  Doctors were unable to regulate Navy's heart rate in St. George, and she was life-flighted from Dixie Regional Medical Center to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City.  Navy also began having trouble with her blood oxygenation. It was only at 60-70%, with intubation and constant oxygen being administered.

Through many tests, the doctors discovered Navy was born with a condition called Chiari Malformation of the Atria. Because of this rare condition, open heart surgery was required to remove some fibers that should not be there and repair her right atria to allow her blood to oxygenate.

Navy is an absolute fighter!  It is a miracle she is here and that she received the treatment necessary to help her survive, when another outcome would have been almost sure.  Now the healing begins! AND the mounting monetary costs.  Jolee and Kalob will need to continue to be in Salt Lake until Navy is released to go home.  Due to concerns for COVID exposure and being away from their home, they have hotel costs and food costs, on top of missed wages, and their medical bills.  They have quickly met their high-deductible for 2020, and their deductible will reset again in January 2021. Navy will continue to need specialized care throughout this healing process.  Please show your #lovefornavy and donate to help this amazing family!
