Love for Loki - Help Lachlan's Lymphoma Battle

My cousin, Lachlan, or Loki as we like to call him, has been diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma. After displaying a tummy ache and a fever his mom, Heather, assumed he had a stomach bug and took him in to be checked out. She was shocked when they said it was cancer. He is the cutest, sweetest, spirited little boy, with a smile that can melt your heart. As you can understand no child wants to be sick much less endure surgery to remove a large tumor, his appendix, resection his small intestine, place a port, and 4-6 months of chemotherapy. He just wants to go home to play with his two brothers and his sister. After surgery while his mom was talking to him to try to take his mind off the pain that he was enduring, she was talking about things that he wanted to do one day, and she mentioned seeing some places and he said all he wanted to do was go to London to ride a double-decker bus. Heather said, “What about seeing the northern lights?” and he said, “Nope, I really just want to ride a double-decker bus.” Lol.

He is being treated at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital. His mom, Heather, is a single mom who works hard as an emergency room Registered Nurse to support Loki and her other three children. We want to make sure that Heather can concentrate on her son’s healing without the additional stress of working long hours to pay for copays, deductibles, uncovered medical expenses, and essentials.

Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma is a very complicated cancer. This one happens to be a fast growing cancer that is rare especially in the United States. I’m asking for help so that Heather can focus on her son’s fight to beat cancer. The contributions gathered will be used towards medical bills and monthly cost of living expenses so that she can be by his side through his battle with this disease.
