Just a 15-yr old guy who loves Jesus, his mama, baseball, skating and video games, he had an everyday life with his two older brothers and his mom in Colorado Springs. (His grandma states that he is loving, friendly, popular with his peers, a whiz at the computer, determined and courageous!) It was a week ago today, a Sunday, that life was normal..... next day, a visit on Monday, his grandmother would note his color didn't seem right. A couple of days later, a friend would say the same. Concerned, as he had seemed fatigued with a headache as well, his mother scheduled an appt with the Dr on Friday. Logan, along with his mother, Shauna went to the appointment not knowing that their lives would take a dramatic turn. This Friday would be like no other. A quick diagnosis of anemia and they were sent directly to the ER at Children's Hospital. Tests showed that his hemoglobin was dangerously low, which led them to suspect leukemia, now off they were sent to Children's hospital in Aurora, to arrive at 10:15 pm, a full Friday to be sure.
Saturday.... more testing, blood transfusions, blood withdrawals to test levels, then platelet transfusions. and finally a diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Sunday.... Numbers were up enough to do the surgery to put a port into his chest for chemotherapy, a spinal tap was done and a bone marrow extraction.
Monday--Logan will have his first Chemo treatment, followed by others this week and the plans are to release him at the end of the week for home, where he will continue his chemotherapy treatments in Colorado Springs....
Logan is keeping a positive attitude, has been so brave, and although in some pain after the surgery, he continues with his sense of humor. Shauna has been so positive, a bright light, claiming the goodness of the Lord & how he has taken care of them. What a testament to their faith these two are!
With the treatment spanning the next 2-years (best case scenario) the need is GREAT. Shauna, a single mother who is the sole financial supporter of their family, will be needing periodic time away from her two jobs for appointments as well as immediate time off in preparation of this journey, thus loss of wages. Funds are needed for medical travel (to and from appointments in Aurora and Colorado Springs, lodging, gas & meals). There are yearly deductibles, prescriptions, and incidentals. As you can see there is a huge need for financial angels, with huge hearts, to help Shauna meet her financial obligations. The urgency is high and the need is long. Can you give once? Twice? Can you give monthly? Can you give now? Can you take a meal? Can you share this post? Can you pray for Logan and his family? You are Gods hands and feet, and we believe that God will bless you mightily for the seeds you are planting. We would ask that you speak healing over this young man, in the name of Jesus!
"Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is the best case scenario, praise God! It has the quickest treatment of 2 years and best success rate", Shauna states. Overwhelmed with gratitude, they are thankful for the Dr's and staff at Children's Hospital in Aurora and Colorado Springs. "Please keep us in your prayers. We have a long journey ahead and many obstacles to overcome!"
Just hours after surgery....
Logan with his family! (Austin, Mom, Logan & Dylan)

DEUTERONOMY 15:10 (NIV)
“Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.”
2 CORINTHIANS 9:11 (NIV)
“You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”
MATTHEW 6:1-4 (NIV)
“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
