Lisa Harris appreciates all of your well wishes, love, and support. She has been out of work and is missing her little kindergarteners, family, and coworkers. She has rheumatoid arthritis and her medications lower her immune system, which is why she recently has had strep, pneumonia, and sepsis. She was in the hospital for 5 days. Last year her husband lost his job the day after Christmas and was out of work for 8 months because he is handicapped and no one was willing to hire him. So the family is still trying to recover financially from that, along with more recent medical bills and the strain of her medical condition. Lisa has been unable to go back to teaching and is praying she will start feeling strong enough soon. Right now, the simplest tasks make her exhausted. "Sepsis is the body’s extreme response to an infection. It is a life-threatening medical emergency. Sepsis happens when an infection you already have —in your skin, lungs, urinary tract, or somewhere else—triggers a chain reaction throughout your body. Without timely treatment, sepsis can rapidly lead to tissue damage, organ failure, and death." She is in recovery, but needs some extra love and support as she continues to heal. She has helped so many as a teacher, she has needed to work extra jobs to provide for her family, and now she needs to just rest and let God do the rest.
