Sean here, reaching out to you with the help of my cousin, Marni.
As we all know, life happens to us all. Sometimes good things come our way that we enjoy and want to share with others, and sometimes we are faced with challenges that are difficult, and we need to reach out to others for help.
Obviously, as we are reaching out to you through this GoFundMe, our family is in an incredibly challenging situation, and we are reaching out to you all to ask for help.
Several weeks ago, my mom, Linn Anderson, Marni’s Aunt Linny, was diagnosed with breast cancer. As most can imagine, and some of you may have even faced this challenge with your own families/friends, with cancer (and many other invasive medical diagnoses) the medical expenses, loss of wages, and change in living expenses can finically devastate even those who are financially secure.
Though my parents (Marni’s Aunt Linny & Uncle Steve) used to be among the financially secure, however many years ago suffered a devastating blow when they lost their business. A few years after, and many more financial and medical setbacks, my parents sold their home and downsized to a more manageable space, which they are still finding difficulty maintaining on minimal income from my mom and my dad’s disability. To add medical expenses to an already struggling financial situation is more than can be managed.
We are sure that you all remember the big house on Gold Rush, with the pool, where we all gathered for summer pool parties, fall and winter parties, game nights, or even just to share a meal at the “round table” in the dining room. Marni calls this the “tell all table” – which we all agree was more of a vault than a millionaire’s safe in Vegas – and like Vegas, what we told there, stayed there. This was a place that all of you, and many of your friends and families have been and enjoyed. You never had to bring anything or do anything, other than let them know you were coming so there was enough food and beverages for everyone!
It is these moments that we are asking that you reflect upon now. How did you come to meet Linn & Steve and what did meeting them, and spending time with them mean to you?
We know that their love and generosity has meant so much to so many of you over the years, so we are asking that you consider, even the smallest donation that you can afford to make. Any amount will help!
The money donated will be used for Linn’s medical testing, treatments, medications, and transportation expenses, as well as household expenses, food, daily living assistance during the times that she is out of work for medical care.
We find ourselves incredibly humbled to be in this position of asking for all of you to help support our family during this difficult time. We want you to know how incredibly grateful we are to each and every one of you in our lives. We appreciate any thing you can do to help, including prayers and positive mojo! Blessings to each of you from all of us.
