This is a matter of extreme urgency. My sister Vivian and her 11-month-old daughter, Lilly Joe, fled their home on June 29th after being subjected to a slow rise in abuse from Lilly’s father. While they currently are safe in a domestic violence shelter, and Vivian has been granted a temporary restraining order and emergency custody, the legal battle has just begun. Vivian has been left without any financial means after being subjected to emotional, financial, sexual, and psychological abuse over a period of months, and she is deeply concerned about their safety. Lilly’s father has unlimited resources, and we need to retain an attorney to protect Lillyjoe from witnessing or being subjected to any more verbal or emotional abuse or threats. Vivian now needs to continue to retain her lawyer and is seeking an expert witness so we have increased the goal to 18000. Thank you all so much for your generosity to this point.
