Just last week, our friend and coworker Alexa received news no parent ever wants to hear. After a neurology appointment for her daughter Lilly, doctors rushed to schedule an MRI — and within hours, Lilly was admitted for emergency surgery to remove a tumor. The 10-hour procedure took place the very next day.

The good news: the tumor was benign.

The hard news: Lilly faces a long and challenging road to recovery.
