My amazing, talented, and sweet wife, Lexi Hinds (known to many as Lexi Adams), is going through treatment for breast cancer. Specifically, Stage 3B hormone positive invasive ductal carcinoma.

While Lexi’s major medical treatments are covered by Medicaid, the year ahead will still bring significant life disruption and expenses for us. This fundraiser is meant to help us with living costs, fertility preservation expenses, travel, and time off work so we can focus on getting through this together.

The treatment includes chemotherapy for 6 months (currently underway), followed by at least one mastectomy, then regular radiation treatments, all followed by long-term hormone suppression therapy (5–10 years) to ward off recurrence. The month before chemo started, Lexi went through a month of fertility preservation treatment and an egg harvest, which will protect our ability to have kids one day. That process costs us about $20,000.

Lexi won’t be able to work for the foreseeable future. I’m filling in for her gigs as much as I can while still playing my own. We’re hoping to raise funds to help with bills and day-to-day living expenses so we can focus on getting through this process without too much worry. Support will go toward travel, time off work, and staying afloat during treatment.

This has certainly been the hardest season of our lives. As we move through this process, we are so grateful for our community.
