Love for Laura Fehrs
Donation protected
We're writing this on behalf of our cousin, Laura Fehrs, who was the victim of a domestic violence incident, May 13th and is currently fighting for her life in the Anchorage ICU.
The details of the accident are still under investigation.
Laura is one of the most beautiful humans you will ever have the pleasure of loving. She has spent her 25 years loving, laughing, and fighting to figure out how to be her best self. In the past few years we have watched her grow as a woman and embrace the beauty of life in every way possible. Her son Waylon, is a testament to that - he is 2 months old, and so unbelievably cherished.
Now we face the possibility of losing her. Before she gets to enjoy motherhood fully, or hear her son say mama. Before we get to make new crazy memories with her as adults, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Waylon might lose his mom, before he is old enough to know her. Before we get to tell him stories about her that are only appropriate because she’s there to laugh at them with us.
She has multiple spinal fractures, internal bleeding, collapsed lungs and swelling of the brain amongst a multitude of other things….
The doctors aren’t sure that she’ll ever be the same again, but we refuse to believe that. We have seen this girl fight, and win, in her life.
We know her stubbornness (it has aggravated us to no end at times!!), and we know how fiercely she loves her baby boy.
We believe she will hold him, and us, again.
Hospital stays, surgeries, and the amount of care she needs now, and will continue to need for some time, adds up to far more than she can handle on her own. So we, her family, are asking for help, so when she wakes up we can relieve some of the mountains of stress she will face.
We know money is tight right now, and if what you can spare is prayers and positive thoughts, we welcome them gratefully!
If there is anything you can contribute financially, we would be so unbelievably grateful for that as well.
We don't know yet what the future holds for her, but we do know that her and her son will need a lot of support.
Funds will be held for medical needs, baby needs, and (hopefully!), Her personal needs during the long recovery she will face.
From our entire family,
Thank you!
