Love for Judy

Hello Friends and Family,
As many of you know Rick Engle passed away on March 11, 2022 while on vacation with Judy in Hawaii. Rick and Judy would be celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary on May 5th this year. To celebrate they took a trip to Kauai to spend a week in paradise together. On day four they took a charter trip to go snorkeling. This is something Rick dreamed of doing for many years. Rick had been snorkeling before and absolutely loved it. While snorkeling Rick suffered a cardiac event and they were unable to revive him.
Rick was a man of God who aspired to be a man described like King David; a man after God’s own heart. If you had the privilege of knowing Rick, you know that is exactly the kind of man he was. Rick loved his wife, his three kids, their spouses, and most of all his grandkids with all he had. Rick loved his friends and family and would do anything for them. Most people did not know, but if a friend or family member had a deep need Rick would fast for days and spend that time in prayer asking and pleading with God for that need. He was passionate about choir and music, getting great joy from watching and leading others to worship our loving Father and Savior, Jesus.
Unfortunately, Rick had some significant medical problems over the last few years. From having a stroke a few years ago to blood clots, stints, and other surgeries and hospital visits recently. These medical issues made it so that Rick could not afford life insurance. Given the medical expenses he already had and the unexpected loss in Hawaii, we are trying to raise some money to help ease the some of the financial burden on Judy. Some of the things putting a strain on Judy are:
Having known the Engle family my entire life (and Lexi still being one of my very best friends), I can tell you that Rick is with Jesus. His love for his Savior and love for his family was evident in everything he did. He has left a legacy of Jesus here in his wife, children, and grandchildren. While his family and friends grieve here on earth, please lift all of them up in prayer. We know God will continue to provide for Judy and the kids, so take a moment and thank him for that. Ask him to continue to comfort Judy and the kids and ask him to show up in ways that only he can.
If you feel led, please give what you are able. Regardless of if you’re able to give financially, I ask that you please take some time and lift Judy and the Engle family up in prayer.
Thank you.

Some of the things putting a strain on Judy are:
- Loss of Rick’s income
- Owing on his previous medical expenses
- Cost of medical care and interventions in Hawaii
- Cost of the memorial/reception in California
- Normal day-to-day expenses (like her car that was just in the shop)
