Love for Joseph

On Valentine’s Day 2017 I lost the love of my life. We lost Joseph at the tender age of 34. Joseph was an amazing fiancé, son, brother, and father. He walked out the house to work his shift as a security guard as usual and he died within an hour of arriving. He was a hard worker putting in 60, 70 hour weeks just to take care of the household in addition to cleaning, cooking, and taking care of our daughter. He kept all his “girls” together; mother, sister, fiancé, and daughter. It wasn’t easy but Joseph took care of all of us and was the foundation of our family. Joseph would work overtime to make sure all the finances were covered and we all stayed together despite our challenges. Joseph’s mother only speaks Spanish and I only speak English. Joseph stood by my side as I battled with multiple sclerosis the whole 12 years we’ve been together. Joseph pushed me in wheelchairs, went to doctor appointments, exercised with me and cleaned up after any of my accidents. Joseph always believed I could beat it. Joseph’s sister is deaf with two prosthetic legs and only communicates through sign language. Joseph translated English, Spanish, and Sign-language for all of us to communicate. We are all heartbroken. We relied on him for everything. Joseph kept us safe. Joseph protected his home. Joseph spoke up for us. Joseph helped his mother, protected his sister, cherished his daughter, and treated me with respect and love. Joseph is going to be beyond missed. Joseph was a real hero.
Unfortunately, after all of Joseph's contributions to his family and job he did not have anything in place to take care of his family. This GoFundMe account is being created to collect donations to help pay for services, medical bills, and monthly expenses until I can find a job and support myself and child. Joseph was an extremely hard worker but as with many families we lived paycheck to paycheck. It will be hard to sustain with myself and my sister-in-law being disabled while trying to raise a small child and not being a huge burden on my mother-in-law.
