Love 4 Immigrants is a social space for immigrants' support. It aims to connect immigrants to their communities, as respected, loved, and heard individuals by sharing their narrative through art and storytelling.
If immigrants are displayed with dignity and their value added is recognized, then they will be better integrated to society, maximizing their success and contribution, because better awareness helps change attitudes and behaviors.
An online (Virtual Reality) exhibit will take place and have costs.
Beneficiaries will be both the artists who will showcase the work and the DMV attendees at large who will feel a sense of solidarity. All immigrants who attend the online artist event are the beneficiaries as well since they will have an opportunity to connect with a mission that resonates with their hearts and humanizes their experience. And 460 of our social media community of activists, immigrant activists, educators, artists, and more.
Funds will be used for Virtual Reality platform fee ($ 21 / artist), Other VR platform fee, any payment needed for promoting and marketing the exhibit (online & postcards for distribution before the event etc.) award for top 3 artists and entry application fee. Tokens of appreciation for notable stakeholders (like t-shirts).
If we get funds that cover the event expenses, then we can have a 3 tiered award for 3 artists.
Ideally funds are needed by the beginning of August 2021.
The donors support means that people care about changing the migration narrative to one with dignity. Supporting our event monetarily means that people believe in the power of art for achieving social change in a peaceful way. We are grateful because it means change is needed and created by the people and for the people. If 1000 people donate $ 1 that would mean more to us than if 10 people donate 100 because that means the people are behind this arts and immigrant narrative movement.
