Welcome, and thank you for being a part of Jill's support community! As you likely know, about 7 months ago Jill got the devastating diagnosis that she had breast cancer. As a busy mother of 3 elementary-aged children, the possibility of breast cancer seemed so remote, it was barely a passing thought for Jill, when, at 42, she went for her second mammogram. In an instant, that passing thought became the unwelcome constant companion of Jill and her husband David's lives these past 7 months. In November, Jill underwent surgery for a double mastectomy, and in January she began 4 rounds of chemotherapy. With the chemo now behind her, Jill's next steps are radiation, followed by reconstructive surgery. If all goes according to plan, Jill will be recovering from her last surgery in the fall.

In the meantime, Jill had to stop her work as an Early Intervention Specialist as well as a Preschool Teacher at The Growing Place preschool in Geneva. Jill and David are grateful to have health insurance to cover the otherwise impossible costs of the diagnosis and were hesitant to ask for help, but several of her pushy friends insisted. We reminded Jill that she would do the same for any of us if the tables were turned. Cancer comes with a financial cost for anyone diagnosed. There are medical bills, lost wages, and treatment-related costs that add up. We don't want the worry of money to weigh on Jill and David's minds during a time when they've got plenty of other things to worry about, not the least of which is making sure their children, Sophie, Greta, and Lionel don't feel any additional stress during an already stressful time.

We don't need to tell you that Jill is one of the kindest, most caring, thoughtful, and generous women you'll ever meet. Let's come together and shower her with that same generosity she shows everyone else and show her some "Love for Good!"- Tracy
