hey friends and family!
I am doing this fundraiser on behalf of my dad, and family. Over the weekend my dad was admitted at Northeast Ga Medical Center in Braselton for multiple blood clots in both of his lungs. Starting Friday, he began having shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, and chest tightness that continued through Saturday. I talked to him Saturday evening, and could tell he was out of breath talking to me and was breathing fast, even though he was sitting down. He went and got checked, and that is when it was discovered he had multiple blood clots in both of his lungs. His oxygen level would drop to the low 80s, so he had to wear supplemental oxygen. He was started on a heparin drip that Saturday night, and later Sunday afternoon they transitioned him off the drip and onto oral Eliquis. He got discharged today 8/19, and will have follow ups to come.
This year has definitely been a challenge for my family medically! Because of my dad’s health right now, he has lost his medical clearance for flying. He is self-employed, and he will not be able to fly for at least the next 4-6 months, maybe longer. Watching him achieve his dream of opening a flight school over the past 2 years has been such a joy for me. He is such a gifted pilot, and he has blessed so many through his line of work! His spirit is weary right now and discouraged. Life is expensive for almost everyone now, these are definitely trying times. Through this fundraiser I am hoping to alleviate some stress so his body can heal and recover, without stressing over how to pay the bills and keep the family running!
If you feel inclined, please reach out to him with encouragement and prayers! If you feel led to give the gift of generosity, that will be so appreciated.
I am so thankful that the clots didn’t go to his brain or heart, as that likely would have had a much different outcome. God is always faithful! I love my dad so much! Please be praying for him and my mom as they navigate this season.
