Hello, my name is Laurie Douglass I am writing on behalf of my beautiful daughter Chloe Love Douglass. Chloe’s middle name Love, is so fitting, as she was an unexpected gift for I had thought long before she arrived that my child rearing days were over. However, love brought her into my life and I’ve never stopped loving her, and it is because of this love that I am writing this Go Fund Me page.
For those of you who know me, you know that I am a proud, hard working woman and I do my very best to always handle my own situations and protect all of my children. Chloe is my youngest daughter and since a very young age she has experienced one medical issue after another. I know that many of you reading may be thinking “yeah, we all have our problems”, but imagine being 19 and thinking you have your whole life in front of you only to struggle every single day with your health.
When Chloe was 7 she had a ruptured appendix, which has led to a life long struggle with her digestive track and female issues. Chloe has tried to maintain a healthy lifestyle, as she chose to become a vegetarian at the age of 8 and has always looked for ways to make healthy choices. She is a hard worker and wants to continue to grow and do all the things that a young adult woman should be doing at this stage of her life. However, through no fault of her own, she has been wracked with digestive issues so debilitating that she is incapacitated each month. She has seen every doctor imaginable: OB/GYN’s, endocrinologist, nutritionist, dieticians, primary care, digestive specialists, the list goes on. She has endured so many tests and nights in the hospital that her “spirit” has suffered. The stress and anxiety to attend school daily, seek employment, successfully complete her veterinary technician internship, and maintain her health, all while currently feeling nauseous and looking for answers to her mystery ailments. All of these compounds to high levels of anxiety for Chloe and her only success at handling these added stresses and anxiety is to see a counselor to help manage the added pressures her illnesses put on her.
This is the reason for my go fund me post. I am a single parent trying to help lift my daughter up through her physical and emotional challenges. Her father and I separated at a very sensitive time in Chloe’s life. Her dad and I love her very much. However, the brunt of Chloe’s care falls on me as her father is disabled and not able to work at this time. Although he is supportive, we can not count on his financial support. Chloe’s counseling is quite costly at over $600 per month, coupled with a growing hospital bill from her numerous stays and tests to try and diagnosis her conditions. At this point in time, we have no diagnosis and so we are in a cyclical spiral to help Chloe get back on the road to good health, and employment. Until this can happen, I am responsible for her care and I am struggling to pay a growing bill that will affect both Chloe and myself for a long time to come, or having Chloe not attend her much needed and helpful counseling sessions.
Many of you have asked how you can help. After much consideration and deliberation if you feel inclined to help Chloe and myself, I would humbly request you make a donation to this go fund me campaign.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Laurie & Chloe “Love”
