Love for Brittany and Andrew

Our precious daughter, sister, wife, niece, cousin and friend Brittany was truly just a beautiful person inside and out. Her life was truly just beginning. The kind of love Andrew and Brittany shared was rare and if your lucky enough to find it at least once in your lifetime you are truly blessed. Just two weeks ago Brittany was celebrating her two year wedding anniversary with Andrew and her family. A family trip no one knew would be the last with Brittany.

When she returned home she started to have leg pain, working for a Griffin Hospital Cardio Vascular Surgeon he instructed her to have a scan. She did, only to be told it was clear and she was fine. Then after suffering for a few days, Brittany woke up Sunday morning and went to use the bathroom and collapsed on the floor. Andrew called 911 and she was taken to Griffin Hospital unresponsive but continued to breathe on her own. On her way to the hospital she went into cardiac arrest, she coded once in the ambulance and when she arrived at the hospital she began to suffer from seizures.

By the end of Sunday, Brittany was in ICU now on a respirator but still breathing on her own. She was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism in her lung. We all still had hope she would wake up. Monday she was transferred to Yale ICU so they could monitor her brain activity they noticed she had a mild hypoxia brain injury (caused by lack of oxygen to her brain) that potentially she could overcome with physical therapy!Wednesday night we got the call that Brittany began to lose her battle, she now had a herniated brain stem which caused her brain to swell extensively and caused her to stop breathing on her own.

Everyone as a family, Parents, Siblings, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins and close friends gathered at the hospital praying and hoping for a miracle, searching for answers as to why this was happening. By Thursday we were told Brittany was showing no signs of life and her family was called back to say goodbye. We don’t understand what Gods will for her passing was but we look forward to the day when we meet again and all of our questions will be answered. Brittany passed away this past Saturday morning about 1am after giving the ultimate gift of life, she was just 25 years old. Brittany was an organ donor and saved 3 lives that morning and we know she will live on in those who received her final gift.

Brittany was born on May 3, 1995 to Bill and Dawn Dobbin, she had two Sisters Amber and Jessie and her brother Cole. She was the middle child of 4. She was the peacemaker, a caretaker, a mom when needed and the one her siblings, cousins and all who loved her would seek out for advice. She was such a Charismatic, loyal, selfless, generous and beautiful person who loved her family and friends. The first out of 4 children to marry and of all people she married her siblings favorite person Andrew. Andrew and Brittany were truly made to be together, they grew up in the church and spent many years building a friendship that would someday result in them falling in love.

Brittany was a compassionate, FUN, beautiful, funny, caring, loving, creative, passionate, classy and genuine young woman living her best life with the love of her life. They bought a house that Brittany made into a home, they were ready to start a family. To say we are all truly devastated by the loss of Brittany is putting it mildly. She was a bright beautiful star in this family and this world that we will all truly miss. We would like to help Andrew as much as we can, he will soon have medical bills for Brittany and he has many others that he is solely responsible for now as well. We are hoping to make the road ahead a little easier for him. No money in the world will bring Brittany back but every little bit goes a long way and will keep Andrew going. Please continue to pray for Andrew and Brittany’s family during this difficult time. Love your family and friends, tell them you love them, you truly have no idea when it will be the last time you have the chance.  ️
