Love doesn’t hurt! In honor of Cherie Short

To know her was to LOVE her! There are so many words to describe Cherie Short, from lovable , caring, and warmhearted , to hilarious, vibrant, and full of LIFE! One thing for certain, she was AMAZING!! She was an amazing mother, daughter, niece, friend, co- worker, and a piece of everybody's family.
According to Cherie, EVERYBODY was her family or best friend. We all shared a piece of her and she truly had an impact on everyone she encountered. She was always there for the people she cared about, for ANY reason, at ANY time of day, she was there! A shoulder to cry on, a listening ear, a warm hug, a good laugh, and a few CHOICE words!
Cherie was a mother to three wonderful boys; Ja'Ron, Jhavyn, and Jah'Si, that she cared about more than anything in this world. Even though Cherie is no longer on this Earth they will forever know how much she loved and adored them!
To know her was to LOVE her!!
Unfortunately, Cherie's life ended abruptly to a heinous act of domestic violence on April 14, 2020 leaving those same children; motherless. Family and friends near and far are grieving the loss of a beautiful person inside and out. We will never know exactly what happened in those last moments Cherie had, but we do know that ...
Love doesn't hurt !
In honor of Cherie Short we are raising money to host an event to promote awareness for domestic violence on June 6th at 6:00 pm . The money that is raised will go directly towards the event (food decor, entertainment, building ect ). Anything that is left over will go to the family. We are NOT raising money for funeral or burial expenses as requested by the family. We will have a panel and open the floor for testimonials of survivors or anyone that may be going through a similar situation. We ask that there be NO CHILDREN at this event due to the material that will be discussed.
The goal is that through this meeting and continuous support from the community that we may be able to save a LIFE! Cherie's story WILL live on, and the mission WILL be carried out! Always remember that ...
Love doesn't hurt!
We love and miss you greatly and we know that God needed you more, until we meet again rest in LOVE
