Love & Care for Darla: Help Cover $15K in Vet Costs

My wonderful friend Kristin adopted her sweet four-year-old dog Darla earlier this year. While she knew adopting a rescue with pre-existing health conditions would come with a financial burden, nobody expected the bills to go through the roof the way they have.

About Darla

Darla is one of the friendliest dogs you'll ever meet, greeting everyone with love and an open heart. Unfortunately, her life has been a struggle, and the last few months have taken their toll on both Darla and her mom. Darla had pre-existing issues with her hips and legs, so in November the doctors agreed that she needed an ACL surgery. While recovering from her surgery, Darla's immobility made her bored, which led her to eating her toys and swallowing a few squeakers... This led to Darla's second surgery, less than two weeks after her ACL, to have the squeakers removed from her stomach. Since these surgeries, Darla has been fighting for her life and has been in and out of the emergency vet for a number of issues including severe vomiting and diarrhea. She is now being tested for a number of potential causes including exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. Because of Darla's medical history pre-adoption, her pet insurance is refusing to cover her thousands in medical bills which are piling up.

Kristin is a loving, single dog mom, living in expensive San Diego, CA, and these expenses, upwards of $15,000, are taking a toll.

Kristin has been doing her best to care for Darla, ensuring that she has the best doctors and that Darla gets what she needs to live a happy and healthy life. Kristin and Darla are toughing it out, but they could use every bit of help available.
