Love and Support Louise Fernquest
Spende geschützt
Dear friends,
As the 7th and 8th grade English teacher, Louise Fernquest has been a valued and beloved member of the Keys community for 20 years. Her thorough and detailed coaching has helped generations of Keys students in thoughtful reading and analysis, and critical and creative writing. Her carefully thought out recommendations have helped untold Keys students in finding the high school that is best for them. And each year in June, parents and their fledgling graduates experience a farewell banquet that is deeply personal, individual, and reinforces the bonds of the Keys community. Louise's leadership and vision has made this meaningful and unforgettable for so many graduating classes.
Over the past few years, Louise has also been juggling full time care of her beloved husband, Donald, as dementia has taken away his independence.
Currently he requires 24x7 care givers. While Louise is at school, she has care givers that come in to keep him safe. Outside of school, Louise is on her own and the exclusive care giver.
How can you help?
1) Louise’s students have always been a priority to her. Sign up in this Google sheet to write her a note or stop by to say hello. Sharing your life with her is a gift as she juggles these challenges. Tell her what you are up to these days. Her long-term relationships with her students lift her spirits.
Love for Louise sign up sheet
2) Contribute financially to this Go Fund Me campaign. With these funds, Louise will receive much needed support in paying for the daily care givers plus potentially get some support for those after school hours so she can get some time to recharge her batteries and be her best both at school and at home.
We are hoping to raise $3000 and would be thrilled if we can do more. Louise has given us so much, and now we feel it is our turn. Please join us if you would like to help.
With our thanks and gratitude,
Priya Chandrasekar, Bethany Wylie-Chaney, Leslie Todd and Helen Waters
