Love and Support for Zander's Rehabilitation

Update: 4/18/25
Hello there. Today we are one day shy of 3 mos post accident. Ashley and I were discussing this today....in some respects it seems like his injury was 6 mos ago because SO much has happened. It is hard to believe that we are "only" 3 mos post accident. In short, this dude is killing it. He is working his butt off in therapy multiple times a week and continues to get stronger.

Today I got to join him in therapy at SCIFit Fresno and I got to watch him stand multiple times. Of course, he is being supported by his team and has the use of multiple electrodes to help contract critical muscles but even his therapist noted how hard he is working to contract his core and activating his muscle memory. He worked so hard to maintain stability and it was an honor to watch him today. SCIFit has been instrumental for Zander. Thank you to everyone who continues to support him so that he can continue going to this amazing facility.

Life at home has been going well. The Odom's are settling into a routine and finding a rhythm. Plans have been submitted to the county for the garage conversion and they are super excited to get that going. Zander already has some ideas of how he wants to decorate it and make it a functional space for him to live and work. Also, his power chair arrives Tuesday, whoo-hoo. While his ultimate goal is to regain enough mobility and stability to operate a manual chair on his own, in the interim, this power chair is going to give him a lot of independence. Tuesday is a day that they have been anxiously awaiting.

Your texts, calls, messages, prayers, good vibes, and support have meant and continue to mean the world to the Odom family. Thank you for being their circle of support. So much of what he has been able to accomplish and participate in therapy wise is a direct result of this GoFundMe, opportunities that might not otherwise have been possible. That fact is not lost on them and they are endlessly grateful. Happy Easter everyone.

Update: 3/14/25
Hi there everyone, just wanted to give you all an update. We are closing in on one month of Zander being home! In this last month there has been a lot of adjustment to the new routines and continued learning about his particular injury on all fronts. Naturally there are tough moments, but his perseverance and positivity are amazing. Recently, he got to spend several days with his closest bros who came from all over to visit him. It was a like a frat house up in Squaw Valley for a bit haha. Overall, on behalf of the Odom family we just want to say THANK YOU. Your love, prayers, messages, texts, meals, visits, and life changing financial contributions have been instrumental in this healing process. Because of you, Zander now has an accessible vehicle to get him to appointments and that will play a crucial role in his independence and freedom. Plans are in the works for house modifications to provide ease, comfort, and independence for Zan then Man and his care. He is also a member of a gym/rehabilitation center specializing in SCI injuries. He was the recipient of a scholarship that granted him access to attend and with this GoFundMe, he can continue getting this specialized support. In short....NONE of this could have happened as quickly as it did without every single dollar. We have not quite been able to reach our goal but we are still so incredibly thankful for this community of humans. From our whole hearts, thank you!!!!

Update: 2/19/25
Look who is on his way home exactly 30 days from his accident. Prayers and positive vibes for a safe trip home.

Update: 2/17/25

Our boy is still fighting and working hard. Unfortunately he has been sidelined with a complication the last few days that he is working through. We are not 100% sure he will be able to come home tomorrow afterall, but he is working hard to get home this week. Please keep the Odom's in your continued prayers. We are getting closer and closer to reaching our goal and we would not have been able to do so without your amazing contributions, shares, prayers, and positive vibes. We thank you so much.

Update 2/14/25: The response to this GoFundMe has been so amazing and we wish we could accurately explain just how thankful we are for your support. Zander is headed home from his acute in-patient rehab on February 18th. We are so excited to get him home, settled, and begin adjusting to life at home. Your support has been critical and already the Odom's are able to begin obtaining necessary items to aid in his continued rehabilitation and healing. Thank you, thank you, thank you. He gets stronger and stronger each day and we are so very proud of him.

Update 2/11/25: We officially hit the half way mark today and we could NOT be more grateful and thankful. The community around our boy is amazing. We are overcome with gratitude and thank you so very much. Every single donation has been met with love and thankfulness. This money will go directl
y to providing Zander with the things he needs so he can continue focusing on recovery. He is kicking some major ass in rehab and we can't wait to see what he does once he is home and settled. Thank you for making a difference in his and hia families life. Please help us finish strong. Together we are stronger and I truly believe we can reach our goal. Let's do this.

As many of you know our family has suffered a tremendous tragedy with the accident of our amazing, bright, adventurous, ambitious and determined Zander Odom. On Sunday, January 19th, 2025, Zander, Addy, and Tim were at China Peak planning to enjoy a day of skiing and snowboarding when the unthinkable happened. Early in the day Zander suffered a snowboarding accident that resulted in him being airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, CA. As a result of the accident he suffered a crushing trauma to his C5 vertebrae. He has had two surgeries to fix his spine but unfortunately suffered from a Spinal Cord Injury causing paralysis from the armpits down.

The Odom family has had the unimaginable happen. This tragic accident has turned their lives upside down, and through this life-changing event they are focusing all their love and energy on Zander's care and recovery. They are very thankful for all of the love, prayer and support that has been offered by friends, family, coworkers, and the extended community of excellent people out there.

Many have asked how else they can show support for Zander and the Odom family during this difficult time. This is it!!!!!! Any contribution, would be appreciated, for easing the burdens they face in adjusting their lives and allowing them to focus on Zander's recovery.

If you would like to donate, you can do so through this GoFundMe.

Please continue to keep Zander, Addy, Ashley, and Tim in your thoughts and prayers. He is currently in Vallejo, CA at a spinal rehabilitation center. It is not immediately known when he will for sure be coming home but it could be as soon as two weeks from now.

Thank you all from our whole hearts.
