Adam and I have been favorite cousins our entire lives. Our moms are sisters so our families would get together for every holiday and family gathering, and seeing each other was always the most exciting part! Being that we were only 8 months apart, we had a lot of similar interests; we drew together, we played games, we used our imaginations to dig for treasure and open up restaurants, and we used anything at our disposal to build structures that we would hide and play in.
Adam is now married to his loving wife, Leeza, with two little boys, Zackary and Jaxon, he's an Air Force Veteran, and currently works with cadets at West Point as an optometrist. Unfortunately, in the spring of 2023, Adam was diagnosed with Stage 3b Melanoma that metastasized from a previous superficial Stage 1 Melanoma in 2022. He is fighting hard to beat this, but this type of cancer does not respond to chemo. Since his diagnosis, he has had to endure four immunotherapy treatments, but due to his autoimmune disease, his body cannot handle them. He has been in and out of the hospital, is dealing with pain daily and pushes himself to go to work every day to provide for his family.
At this time, Adam cannot tolerate food and is on a liquid diet, which makes working full days of seeing patients very difficult. He is now out of sick days and can only go on unpaid disability. He will likely require an additional complicated surgery with an inpatient hospital stay. Please consider donating to support Adam and his family. Your donations will allow Adam to take time off work to heal and fight while still being able to pay his mortgage and provide for his wife and two little boys.
This is going to be a long journey for Adam, so he could use all your support to get him to the finish line! Fortunately, he comes from a strong family, not only of FIGHTERS, but of SURVIVORS!
