Love and Support for the Abrahamson Family
Donation protected
Pat Abrahamson is an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend. Pat has always been the kind, loving soul that will give you the shirt off of his back and lend a helping hand. Pat also served his country when he enlisted in the Army. On June 18th, Pat suffered a heart attack where he passed away in his sleep and was revived by the paramedics. There were no warning signs as Pat was healthy and he is now in critical condition in the ICU. His brain is damaged from anoxia (lack of oxygen to the brain) and the doctors started therapeutic hypothermia treatment right away.
The power of love, prayers, medical expertise and support have helped pull Pat through each day. He has not woken up yet and doctors are all in agreement to give him more time because he is so young and healthy. His last MRI showed that he is not brain dead but we are still not sure what the outcome of his brain function will be. The plan is to do another MRI 72 hours from the last MRI that they did on 6-21-2020. Pat has neurological assessments every 4 hours and upon the last assessment, his pupils were showing some dilation to light and one of his eyes would blink to touch. He is starting to show signs of coughing when his throat is being suctioned but there is no gag reflex. There are also still no responses to pain on the extremities. Pat is not breathing fully on his own but is on very minimal help from the ventilator which is good! Room temp is also at 21% and his machine is set at 25%.
Pat and his wife Amy, have two young daughters (Alexa and Marissa) as well as two young grandchildren (Audrey and Leo). They are taking each day by day while holding on to the positive thoughts and prayers that everyone continues to share with them.
Please, if you can in any way, help support this wonderful man and his family through this hard time as medical expenses and bills accrure. Even if you are not able to donate at this moment, please share as much as you can so the prayers and positive thoughts can continue to help Pat pull through. His family needs their husband, father and grandfather.
