Love and Support for Tam's Family

My beloved sister, Heidi Li, is experiencing the tragic loss of love. Her husband, Wing Cheong Tam, passed away at the age of 33 on Aug 17th after fighting with Lung Cancer for 2 years. Wing Cheong was a non-smoker. Just a month after my sister gave birth to baby girl Janice in June 2018, he was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer stage IIIA (estimated survival rate of 10-15%). He remained optimistic and fought hard. He underwent surgery to remove his lungs on the right middle and lower lobe in Aug 2018 followed by chemotherapy.


Four months later, they were not effective and a scan showed the cancer had spread to both of his lungs. Strived to recover and fight for more time to spend with their newborn, Wing Cheong pursued various clinical trials throughout the country, from California to Texas to Maryland. None of the trials reacted well. The COVID-19 pandemic made Wing Cheong’s situation more difficult to seek new trials and he was asked to receive care from Hospice in March 2020. Five months later, her husband passed away in August 2020, leaving their daughter who just turned 27-month old. 


The 2-year battle and the departure of her husband created a major financial strain to the family. Together, I hope we can help support this family through the devastating time and move on to the next chapter in their new life. All funds raised will go direct to the family and will be used as follows:

First $10,000: to cover cremation, funeral, burial & other transitional costs.
Second $10,000: for immediate childcare costs for Janice.
Third $30,000: for Janice’s educational fund.
