Hello - My name is Alyson Antonio and I’m excited to share our fundraising goals for Sue Doherty with you. This is a group collaboration consisting of alum of Libertyville High School who love our girl, Susie Sunshine a/k/a Sue Doherty! LHS Class of 1984. Go Wildcats. Our group is made up of Nancy Stewart Penne, Tracy Scharrer Aitken, Cara Garrison McFeggan, Tracey Neuman Moats, Michelle Carollo Ballano and Sue Jeffery Maier.
While I can’t possibly write all of my thoughts, I’ll tell you this…Sue is a very special lady! Anyone who knows her knows she is a truly kind, compassionate and loving person and friend who loves everybody. But, as we know, bad things can happen to good people. In this case, the bad things are cancer, chemotherapy, targeted therapy and then radiation.
At work she’s been given no time for her to rest, take a day off when the chemo makes her sick or any other accommodations. As a result, Sue is living in fear of losing her job in this terrible economy.
Naturally, Sue is also stressed out about how she can pay for medical bills, prescriptions, treatments, appointments and other incidental expenses, especially if she loses her job. Sue has no monetary safety net at all. Yet, no matter the circumstances, Sue has always remained very positive!!
Although Sue has repeatedly told us to please not do a Go Fund Me, it has gotten to the point where necessity has overridden embarrassment. Thank you all in advance!
