Show some Love and Support for Mrs. Harris!

Hi, some of you may know Crystal as your child's current or former teacher, a friend, or a co-worker. Although she has only been in Flatonia ISD for a (relatively) short while, she makes lasting impacts on everyone she passes. She is committed to her students and has a passion for teaching. She is adored by her students and would do anything to ensure they are loved, safe, and educated to the best of her ability. She is a dedicated mother and wife and constantly talks about how proud she is of her children and her husband, Charles.

 

Something you may not know is that at the beginning of the 2021 school year Crystal began to not feel well. It began mildly but the symptoms progressed quickly and fiercely. Although she was diagnosed several different times, nothing seemed to fit. Throughout the semester she endured painful, cognitively debilitating days, but pushed on because she wanted to be present for her students. She made several trips to doctors and specialists which finally brought her to an accurate diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis.

 

She remains positive and finds solace being at school. Its where she says she feels the best and where she needs to be. Her outlook is something to be admired.

 

She is currently in the early stages of trying to figure out treatments and medication that will aid in her cognitive and motor difficulties, which by itself, has proven to be a challenge.

 

One way that we can help the Harris family is to aid financially. Anything helps when taking in considerations for gas, appointments with doctors and specialists, missing school days, and treatment costs.
