Love and Support for Kirsten and Felsen

Two years ago 610 of you came together to support Garret on the fight of his life. The funds helped Garret and Kirsten travel around the US to ensure he could fight his cancer the Garret way - FULL GAS. We collectively bridged a very difficult medical time for them as a family.

To say Garret fought with grace, determination and beauty would be an understatement. He taught us all how to be open, and how to love and fight with your whole heart.

Within those two years, Garret and Kirsten had a beautiful baby girl—Felsen Sage. The heartbreaking part of this story, is that Garret eventually lost his battle - but the beautiful part is his legacy not only lives on through all of our memories of him, but through his baby girl.

So many of you have asked, “What now?” - “How do we support?” - "What can we do?"

In the moments that we feel anger or sadness missing Garret, we commit to transition and channel that energy to love, and give it to Kirsten and Felsen or share it with the broader mountain community because we know thats how he would want it. We will wrap his beautiful family in love. This is how we will honor him.

The Felsen Fund is not a cry for help, it is a space for those who want to give some love to do so. It’s a way to help when we really aren’t sure which path to take with support. It could be the spark of something important or the foundation for a little more peace. It is first and foremost a bridge for Kirsten and Felsen to rebuild their family. Will it become something bigger? We don’t know yet. Maybe. We like to dream just the way Garret did.

This community has proven to be so incredibly uplifting. We know Garret felt loved because of all of you.
