Gina Walcott is a dedicated mother, sister, daughter, fiancee and friend, a gifted attorney and longtime community volunteer, and she needs your help.
After suffering chronic pain for 3 years, she finally underwent knee replacement surgery. Sadly, in March, Gina suffered a stroke and brain aneurysm as a result of complications from the surgery. But she is a fighter! After over 4 weeks in a coma, she is making progress and has been moved from the ICU to a rehabilitation facility. Her doctor suggests that she will need both determination and the support of a health team to aid her long term recovery.
For years, Gina has been supporting herself, her teenage son Anthony, and our mom, Minnie. Now, we are not sure when she will be able to return home or work again.
She has made a difference in every community she has touched, including her alma maters: Buckingham Browne & Nichols School, Wellesley College (where she joined Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.), and Boston University School of Law. She has won numerous awards for her dedicated leadership, for example Top Women of Law and Boston Bar Association President's Award.
Friends and family are putting this GoFundMe together to help with high medical bills, so that Anthony and mom can have stability at this difficult time, and to prepare the home with accommodations for Gina’s long-term recovery (or if needed, to relocate to a nearby place with proper accommodations).
Will you join us in being a support team to Gina, the way she has supported so many people over the years?
