Love and Support for Garrett

Hi, my name is Jane. My 2 year old grandson Garrett stopped breathing suddenly on December 27th. CPR was performed where an ambulance rushed him to the hospital. It was determined that he had bleeding in his brain, and had to be flown from Santa Fe, NM to UNMH in Albuquerque by helicopter. Doctors didn’t have high hopes of survival.

He was immediately taken into surgery, where they removed a portion of his skull. They found a blood clot between his skull and brain, swelling of his brain, and bleeding.

Two days out of surgery they removed the drain tubes and lower the intubation oxygen levels to zero to have him breath on his own. He now has a metal plate in his head for the rest of his life.

Garrett is improving but still has a long road ahead. He has not woken up yet, but the doctors are hopeful.

His mom (my daughter Hope) is currently 8 months pregnant.

Any help that you can provide to help with his medical bills, and driving to and from Abq to be at the hospital is very much appreciated. Extensive tests are being conducted to verify the damage done from the bleeding.
