For the past year our dad has been in quite a battle. He had been experiencing some back pain which was fairly normal for him but this time was different. After an ER visit, stay at the hospital and multiple tests, we were given the news none of us wanted to hear. He was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer.

This battle has taken quite the toll across the board. With the highest of hopes since the beginning and still with all that God will grace we have been optimistic. Multiple treatments, medications, and even trials have had varying degrees of effectiveness. However, the options have become increasingly slim. There is not a cure for this cancer. His battle has been one of progress and regress, highs and lows, tolerable days and painful days. We are still hopeful that another option for treatment may become available, however it isn't certain at this time there will be. We are focusing on sustaining the highest quality of life so he can continue to be blessed with the company of family and friends for as long as we can hope for.

We are hoping that in sharing this news, as it may come to most, that your prayers and best wishes can be shared with Dan and Sandy. They have endured so much this past year. Your support would greatly help to ease the unfortunate burden they have had to and continue to experience.
