Hi, my name is Jherika. Cindy is one of my closest friends, and I’m starting this GoFundMe to support her and her husband, Mark, during a time of great need. My goal is to help relieve some of the burden they’re carrying/facing, and to remind them they’re not alone. Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting in any way you can, it can truly make a meaningful difference.

Cindy is one of the most caring, generous, thoughtful and genuinely joyful people I've ever known. She is so full of life and if you know her, you know she is the person who gives without ever asking or thinking twice. She shows up, and puts others before herself every single time. Asking for help has never been something she's comfortable with-but now it's our turn to show up for her.

What began as what seemed like severe perimenopause symptoms quickly turned into something no one ever expects. Months of misery and feeling like something is severely wrong, but being told it's normal, common, and expected with menopause, quickly turned into a much more serious matter. After an urgent, complete hysterectomy, Cindy was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive early stage of cancer: Myxoid Leiomyosarcoma.

Since then, her world has been turned upside down.

Cindy has already been forced to miss significant time from work to recover from surgery-something completely out of character for her. Recently, she learned she will need to undergo chemotherapy and radiation, which means being unable to work for at least six months, losing her work-contributed health insurance in the process.

The financial burden of medical bills, prescriptions, treatment, and everyday living expenses adds up quickly, especially when income and insurance are suddenly gone. Cindy and Mark will need to provide a temporary insurance and cover the expenses- this will still be a couple grand each month to even maintain. Cindy would never ask for help herself, nor would Mark, but those who love them know this is the least we can do to support them during such an overwhelming time.

Watching her hear this news and still take on each day with positivity, has been nothing short of inspiring. This woman is incredible!
