Hi, my name is Tammy, and I’m starting this fundraiser to support Nathan and Morgan as they navigate the incredibly challenging journey with their precious baby girl, Haizlee.
Haizlee was born on August 1, 2025, at just 23 weeks and 6 days, weighing only 600 grams. She is a true little fighter and is currently in the NICU at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario, receiving the specialized care she needs.
Nathan and Morgan face a long road ahead, with many months in the hospital. Along with the emotional toll, this journey brings significant financial challenges, including travel, meals, and other living expenses while they focus all their energy on being by Haizlee’s side.
We’re hoping to raise funds to help ease that burden so they can give all their attention to what matters most — supporting their daughter as she grows stronger every day.
Any contribution, big or small, will mean the world to this family. Your kindness, prayers, and generosity are deeply appreciated as we stand beside them during this time.
Update on Haizlee – 1 Month Old
Today our sweet girl is officially 1 month old! These past weeks have been full of ups and downs, but through it all, Haizlee has shown us just how strong and brave she really is.
She now weighs 800 grams – a big step forward from where she started. Her lungs were doing so well during the first week, but then she experienced a big setback and needed much more help from the ventilator. About a week ago, she was started on dexamethasone (a steroid) to help strengthen her lungs. She was also given Tylenol to help close a hole in her heart, and thankfully, a recent scan showed improvement.
To help keep her calm and comfortable, she is on morphine, and so far she has needed three blood transfusions. She continues to tolerate her feeds, now getting 8ml every two hours through her feeding tube – another encouraging sign.
Right now, her biggest battle is an infection. On August 30th, we noticed a change in her behavior – she became very pale, lethargic, and not herself. She also developed yellow secretions from her nose. Tests confirmed that she has a bacterial infection, which also showed up in her blood. She was immediately started on antibiotics. On August 31st, the doctors performed a lumbar puncture to test for infection in the fluid around her brain, along with a urine test. We won’t have those results for another 24–48 hours, but so far it looks like the antibiotics are helping.
Even with everything she’s facing, Haizlee continues to fight with so much strength and courage. We are so proud of how far she’s come in just one month, and we know she has so much more fight in her.
We also want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to every single person who has supported us – through donations, prayers, kind words, or simply checking in. Your love and encouragement mean more than words can express, and we are forever grateful to have such an amazing community behind us.
