To know Arnel and Liam is to love Arnel and Liam. The two incredible humans just tied the knot this year and the positivity and generosity they radiate is undeniable. It's time for us to send a bit back their way...
After stays at St. Francis and Rush Hospital in Chicago, Arnel underwent procedures including thoracic surgery to deal with a rare pulmonary condition. We know very little only that he'll be on pain pills for awhile and doctors are still unsure about what caused this. He also is dealing with neurapraxia ( temporary loss of motor and sensory function due to blockage of nerve conduction) which occurred during his surgery.
The good news is that Arnel is finally home with Liam so he can heal. While Arnel is gaining more function in his arm and the recovery process has begun, their ability to work at this time will be limited:
For Arnel neurapraxia recovery averages 6-8 weeks and as of October 1, Liam has been furloughed and is now out of a job.
They will need our support as they figure out things like hospital bills, future medical expenses, groceries, an assistant for Arnel, and other unforeseen costs during this difficult time.
This is a tough time for everyone, but anything you can give would be greatly appreciated!
