Update: A Change in Plans for Kemani

It’s with a heavy heart that we share this update. Over the past few weeks, Kemani’s health has rapidly declined, and after deep conversations with his care team and loved ones, it has become clear that he will no longer be able to fulfill his wish to go to Disney.

While this change is incredibly painful, we remain deeply grateful for the love and generosity that so many of you have shown. The funds raised will now be used to support Kemani’s family through this unimaginably difficult time and to help cover funeral and memorial expenses.

Hey Everyone,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help in giving one incredibly brave little boy a chance to experience joy in the time he has left.

In June of last year, my dear friend Sasha received news no mother should ever have to hear—her son, Kemani, just 10 years old, was diagnosed with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor (DSRCT), a rare and aggressive form of cancer.

Since then, Sasha and her family have fought with everything they have. In December, they left their home and traveled to New York in search of hope, putting their trust in a doctor known for treating this rare cancer. But despite the treatments and endless prayers, the cancer has continued to spread and his second major surgery was cancelled. Just recently, Sasha made the incredibly painful decision to stop treatment. The priority now is to make the most of the precious time Kemani has left—doctors estimate just 2 to 3 more months.

In the face of unimaginable heartbreak, Sasha’s only wish is to give her son something beautiful to hold onto—a trip to Disneyland, the “happiest place on earth,” where he can smile, laugh, and feel like any other child again.

This trip will be for Sasha, her four children, her mother, and her sister—seven people in total. Between airfare, park tickets, and accommodations, we estimate the cost to be around $6,000. We’ve set the fundraising goal a bit higher to allow some buffer for unexpected expenses.

If you’re able to give—whether it’s $5, $50, or simply sharing this message—it would mean the world to this family. More than anything, it’s a chance to give Kemani a memory filled with joy and magic, surrounded by the people who love him most.
