Love and Care for Jarod's Final Journey

Hey, my name is Alexis,

My husband, Jarod Clark, is just 40 years old and has been bravely fighting locally advanced rectal colon cancer that has spread to his liver and upper abdomen for over two years. It is now terminal. He is a loving father to our 20-year-old son Curtis, our 15 year old son Ethan, our 8-year-old daughter Charli, our 18-month-old son Jaxsyn, and our 3-month-old daughter Gracelynn, and a loving husband to me.

Throughout this journey, Jarod has shown so much love, patience, strength, and resilience, all while enduring countless treatments and holding onto hope for our family. Unfortunately, the last chemo treatment did not go as planned, and he flatlined. Luckily, they got him back and pumped him full of fluids and sent him home. They have decided not to try again. After a long and difficult battle, radiation and chemotherapy have stopped working and are just making things worse for him. The pain he's in is unbearable, and the pain medication is no longer helping. He has since then gotten ascites, which is fluid in the abdomen putting pressure on his diaphragm, making it hard for him to breathe. They finally gave me an answer on why they won’t stick a needle in and remove fluid—they don’t want to spread the cancer worse than it’s spreading. So the only way to remove fluid and anything backed up is another surgery, but ultimately that is just a bandage to the situation. Unfortunately, this will continue to happen whether they remove the fluid and everything that is backed up or not; it will always come back. He has also since had a stroke that has made the left side of his face completely numb, and three different hospitals nor his oncologist have done anything for that or listened to him when he tells them about it. So as a result of everything, Jarod is on hospice care We are working with the people we need to get things on board to keep him as comfortable as possible so he has a nurse who calls and checks in to see if he needs anything or if they can help with anything.
As we face this next chapter, our family is in need of support. The clinical trials that once helped cover our travel expenses are no longer available, and we now need help getting to and from the hospital for Jarod’s care. An we need to give our current landlord a definite move out date as they have asked for the date since Jarod is on hospice an I’m working with a couple resources already to get into somewhere asap but I’m also going to need a lil bit more help than I thought with coming up with moving expenses since Jarod has been placed on hospice an spends 99% of his time in bed… an i stay at home an take care of him an the kids full time. I’ll be posting something’s for sale and preparing to move out of our trailer into an apartment and place our trailer in storage.
so if you can keep Jarod an I and the kids in ur prayers imma try to make this as smooth as possible for him bc he’s struggling hard with the reality of him not being able to do what he used to do an what we used to do together is setting in hard he misses his shop he misses going out and working on random cool cars he misses going to see all of our friends he misses it all and hes having a extra hard day with it because he can’t help with the kids like he wants to an can’t get outa bed longer than to pee and he almost passes out doing that even sitting down to pee he needs something to give he can’t take it he says. He misses being able to do everything he used to! So please don’t be afraid to reach out an ask him if u can come see him or just let him know ur thinking about him!
Thank you in advance for every donation, share, and kind word.

thank you in advanced for everything! The hospital suggested moving to Portland because we are going to be there a lot, and Jarod will die there. The kind of care Jarod needs is 24/7 care, so Jarod, Jaxsyn, Gracelynn, and I need to move out of our 45-foot toy hauler 5th wheel into a house for more room for all of us and mainly to provide the proper room and care for Jarod as he remains on hospice. That alone is stressful on top of all this change in our worlds. We are also preparing for the costs of cremation and the reality of that. As a wife and mom, I will need to take time to grieve and be present and care for our children when the time comes. These financial burdens are overwhelming, mentally draining, and emotionally exhausting trying to think about keeping up with by myself, and any help would mean the world to us.

We are deeply grateful for the love and support we have received so far during this wild journey, and we are eternally thankful for any help going forward. Your kindness will help us focus on making the most of our time together and supporting our children through this incredibly difficult time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of our community and for considering a donation or sharing our story.
THANK YOU AGAIN FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS. WE LOVE AND APPRECIATE EVERYONE

~ Much Love and Appreciation
