Love & support for Lanie Reyes

On 8/22/19, Lanie Reyes lost her life suddenly after a terrible accident. She was hit by a truck and was taken to the University of Alberta hospital via STARS Ambulance helicopter. She suffered a severe brain injury and was pronounced brain dead by the doctor. Lanie passed hours later at the age of 34 years old. 



Lanie Reyes immigrated to Alberta in Canada two years ago from Batangas, Philippines where she was a Nurse. Lanie moved to Alberta for the hopes of a better life. She was the bread winner of her family and sent money back home to support them financially. Lanie's brother, Melvin, passed away three years ago. He dealt with health issues his entire life and Lanie was helping to pay off his medical bills. Their family of six has gone to a family of four. They are survived by their two sisters, mother, and father. Please keep the Reyes family in your prayers as they are devastated from the loss of two young people - parents shouldn't have to outlive their children.


Lanie was kind, selfless, diligent, and one of the most beautiful souls in this world. Her family to her was front and center, they motivated her. She worked two jobs to support them.  The loss of her life is felt deeply by her family and friends who had the privilege of knowing her.


We are asking at this time for your love, prayers, and support for the Reyes family. Lanie's remains are still in Alberta and needs to be sent back to the Philippines, so that she can be buried in the land she calls home and her family can say their goodbyes. At this time, we are fundraising for $40,000 to cover the costs of sending her remains to the Philippines, funeral costs, and medical bills.
